Apple Pie (Vegan!!) - Sweet Autumn

26-10-2020

Heyyy, again, little creatures that read my words <3! Autumn is definitely the best season of the year, right? Ok, at least for me it's, so, in special homenage to our dear autumn, I decided to share some of my favorite recipes, obviously very sweet, to accompany this part of the year. Moving forward, let's go directly to this super simple apple pie recipe (that's vegan !!) and was made just with what I had at home, I hope you like it.

We will need (for base):

- 200g of wheat flour

- a little less than 1/2 cup of vegetable oil

- a little bit of salt

- 6 tablespoons of water

And for the filling:

- 4 small apples

- spices to taste (I used cinnamon and cardamom)

- 1/2 cup jam

- 3 tablespoons of corn starch

First of all, preheat the oven to 170° and we will start by preparing the base. Put the flour in a bowl together with a pinch of salt, add the oil and then adjust the amount of water until the dough is at the point. Let it rest for about 20 minutes, preferably in the fridge.

Meanwhile prepare the filling, chop the apples into small cubes (which do not need to be peeled), add the jam on top and wrap well, finally mix the cornstarch and spices to your liking. Let it rest.

Now we are going to extend the mass of the base we left to rest, stretch it with a rolling pin or another object with the same effect, until it gets thinner. Grease a pan and line it with the dough, make small holes with a fork and bake for 5-7 minutes.

After that time just take the dough and put the filling, taking it to the oven for 30 minutes or until the dough is fully cooked.
